Question 2: Are there components of differentiated instruction that have a greater impact on student achievement than others?
The first step to analyze this cause is to determine where we are as a staff pertaining to differentiation.
TASK 1 is to take the Differentiation Survey so that we can gather data.

Every piece of data has a cause. We are going to be thinking about some of the causes for our student data. Just like in analyzing data, there is protocol for analyzing causes. We will go through these steps together on our blog by researching five CAUSES at AHE that we feel will give us better insight to student learning needs: Teacher Expectations, Differentiation, Teacher Knowledge of Subject Matter, Probing Questions, and Literacy Across Content Areas.

Cause 1: Teacher Expectations
So let's say, as a school, we have identified the cause ...Teacher expectations impact student performance. We start by designing an exploration question to see if research validates and supports this as a potential cause of student learning problems. An example of this kind of exploration question would be ... Do teacher expectations impact student achievement? We also need to ask a question that focuses us on what can be learned about this cause and its potential solutions. An example of this second kind of question would be ...How do teacher expectations impact students positively and negatively?
